Maria Guadalupe Garcia

Maria Guadalupe Garcia, 83, of Brownsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Maximo R. Vega and Maria De Los Angeles Solis Vega; one brother, Jesus Manuel Vega and former husband Jose Gonzalo "Red" Garcia.

Mrs. Garcia is survived by one daughter, Maria Guadalupe "Lupita" Aguirre; one son, Jesus Gonzalo "Jesse" Garcia; one grandson, Carlos Martin Aguirre, Jr., four sisters, Frances Vega Flores, Maria De Los Angeles "Mary" De Leon, Irma Vega Grizzard, and Sylvia Vega Guerra; one brother, Maximo Vega, Jr., several nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm Thursday, January 22nd, 2026, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home 1025 E. Jackson, St., Brownsville, Texas 78520 (956) 542-5511. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 23rd, 2026, at St. Lukes Catholic Church 2800 Rockwell Dr. Brownsville, Texas 78521. As per her wishes cremation to follow.
