Erica Janette Hinojosa, 37, of Brownsville, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.

Erica Janette Hinojosa was born in Brownsville, Tx, to Mary Jessica Chavira and Daniel Contreras on May 13, 1988. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jessica Chavira.

Erica is survived by her husband, Alejandro Hinojosa, her children, Alejandro Hinojosa Jr. and Edgar Fernando Hinojosa ; her father, Daniel Contreras; sisters: Sarah Jessica Martinez, Crystal Eliza Contreras, Ashley Monique Contreras, Amanda Marina Contreras, Sylvia Mercedes Flores, Emily Elizabeth Contreras; brothers: Daniel Contreras, Jr., and Gabriel Rene Contreras; nephews: Jacob Nathaniel Contreras, and Noah Aiden Contreras. Numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces and other family members.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
